Steven’s career overview:

Steven joined InSites in 2001 and started his career as responsible for the internet market analyses studies as the Belgian Internet Mapping, Youth Online, e-Business, ... Before Steven joined InSites he was a research assistant at the Vlerick Leuven Gent Management school where he conducted research & consulting tasks in the B2B marketing field and this for a period of 2 years.

In a next step, Steven became business unit manager Marketing Communication Research in which he was involved in the development of InSites Word-of-Mouth research model. He presented the InSites ‘impact of the Dove campaign’ paper at Esomar Berlin (2007) and the paper was nominated as best paper during this conference.

Today, Steven is responsible for the management of a large client portfolio that consists of clients in different sectors and regions. Further, he manages the knowledge center specialised in pharmaceutical research.

Next to his career @ InSites, Steven is a frequent speaker at many conferences and management courses organised by the Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School and other management training institutes.

Steven’s expertise and project experience:

During his career at the Vlerick School, Steven was involved in consulting projects for 3M Belgium, Picanol and Siemens Mobile where he gained experience in general marketing strategy projects in a B2B environment. Over the last years at InSites, Steven was involved in more than 300 research and consulting projects in different marketing areas, sectors and regions. Some of Steven’s key clients are Initial Textile Services, UCB, Pfizer, Nestlé, Robert Half International, Belgacom, Eli Lilly, Sanofi Pasteur MSD, GSK, Goodyear, SBS, Brussels Airport, ...

Steven his main areas of expertise are:

Web 2.0 strategy: facilitating companies in creating a learning curve concerning web 2.0 strategies, giving inspirational sessions concerning the theme and giving advice how to implement the ideas. For a number of B2B and pharmaceutical customers, Steven has been the content manager in a web 2.0 consulting project in which the goal was the engage our clients in web 2.0 strategies and guiding them towards implementation from a number of projects

Communication research & Word-of-Mouth marketing: guiding companies in making the correct choices in their marketing communication strategy and how to learn from new communication techniques. Steven has been involved of a large number of communication research projects for customers as Pfizer, Nestlé, Belgacom and many others.

Patient marketing: pharmaceutical companies are looking more and more to techniques to communicate directly to their patient groups. Steven has a rich experience in this field based on projects conducted for the majority of our pharmaceutical clients. Patient marketing projects concern marketing issues around innovation, branding, communication and customer experience. Steven is working for companies as Pfizer, GSK, Sanofi Pasteur, Lilly, MSD, Wyeth and many others.

Steven’s educational background:

Steven studied applied economics at the University of Ghent where he gradueted com laude. Further, Steven has won the prize for best strategy thesis and the Philip Morris Marketing award in his senior year at University

Next to that, Steven studied marketing & high tech marketing at the University of California Berkeley.
